D.I.Y. plant pot

Space is limited on my balcony. Instead of buying a pot, I decided to make a temporary pot for these annuals.

I had fun with this little project. I made this container with a green-bag (well, grey in this case). Here are the steps:

  • remove handles,
  • cut a few holes at the bottom for water to drain out,
  • place a piece of newspaper inside to cover the holes,
  • fill with soil (ensure that the newspaper is in place), and finally,
  • add plants

FFI placed the container of petunias on a piece of wood. This allows me to to move the container (by moving the piece of wood), without disturbing the soil in the container.

I hope you enjoyed my gardening project. Thanks for reading. Have a nice weekend.

Hello Evelyn,

What a great use for recyclable bags. Now you can not only use them for grocery shopping. Your petunias look great.
