Happy Cactus Monday.
My first photo is of my Christmas present, which is the above Crassula ovata “Blue Bird”. It is similar to the jade plant, but while the jade plant has shiny green leaves, its leaves are bluish and matt.
Aeoniums which were originally one plant. It grew too tall, so I cut the stalk and separated the rosettes.
This succulent variety is quite commonly used as ground cover. My friend has these in her garden, and I see them along the coast a lot…
Finally, something creative…
I like this unique installation in a cafe in Melbourne - maidenhair ferns growing out of plastic bags.
A close-up of the installation – comprising wire, strings, bulldog clips, plastic bags, soil and ferns.
Thanks for visiting and have a nice week.

I love that black/purple aeonium! Soooo pretty.
Also, great find on the maidenhair. It's soooo simple, and it's such a neat effect!
I like all the colorful succulents. The hanging ferns show that we don't have to spend much money to be creative and/or enjoy indoor plants. :)
Succulents are certainly beautiful...so lush! I love the silvery green of your present...Great photos posted today! Love them all!
Happy Cactus Monday! :)
I like those ferns. Because life happens.
Those ferns are neat! Did you ask how they water them? LOL! Beautiful succulents you have, and I'm feeling really inspired to start a pretty succulent garden when we move. HCM!!!
@Cynthia: LOL - did not ask! Must use a ladder to get up there everyday! Maybe not such a good idea to have ferns up there, since they die if not watered.
Love your succulent collection, Evelyn.
All so pretty! Love that fern display! What an awesome idea! I love when this happens...ideas and BAM...there it is for everyone to see!!!
Lovely succulents and fun picture of those bags, hope for the lady they aren't leaking
HCM!
I love what you did with the Aeoniums! Did you just plop them in the ground right away or did you wait for the "wound" to heal? Or maybe use a rooting hormone? Whatever it was the end result is fabulous!
@Marianne: That would be a sure way to chase customers away!
@Danger Garden: Thanks. I did wait for a few days to let the ends dry out, but I did not bother with rooting hormone.
Love the color of the plant in the second photo!!
I think that is a great idea, but I would hate to water them! I saw this site on someone's blog the other day: http://www.woollypocket.com/products.php
The first time I saw a vertical garden was on your blog, so I thought you might be interested in this site. I'm thinking there has got to be a cheaper way to make these, though...:)
