Here’s a succulent garden in a colander I put together a few weeks ago.

When I saw this colander at the shop, I thought it would be great for a succulent garden in my kitchen. Because of the holes around its sides, the soil stays reasonably dry. It’s been a few weeks, and these plants seem to be growing happily.

Oh...this is really pretty! I love those plants with the little white flowers...are they crassulas? The shiny metal looks so great with the green colors of the succulants! Great idea!

I've often thought of buying hand made pottery berry bowls for succulents also because of the holes! They are really a cute size also for maybe just a couple of plants!

Have a great weekend!

Thanks Julie. Yes, the ones with white flowers are Crassula socialis - I love them too. They look quite delicate.

I thought that one plant was grapes at first. I love your idea. I have a collection of colanders, but I don't know if I could bring myself to put dirt in it. Maybe I could find a different one to use.

Thanks for your comment on my GBBD post.
