Fragile vases

Fragile vases of red flowers © Evelyn Howard 2010

Remember my post titled Fragile Vase? I went to Nacional for lunch today, and they are using the vases covered with packing tapes again.

The blooms in them are really stunning. The waitress was going to check the name of the flowers for me, but she forgot… so sorry, I don’t know the name (see Update below). Hopefully you know, and can tell us what it is.

Update:
Thank you origa-me, who has helped id the flower. The botanical name is 'Telopia Speciossisima', and the common name is 'Waratah'. It is an Australian native and the state flower of New South Wales.

Hope you are having a good week… and since weekend is not far away, I’ll wish you happy weekend too.
