Continuing from Melbourne Botanical Gardens – Part 1
I hope you are having a nice weekend. In this post, I’m sharing photos of flowering succulents from the Melbourne Botanical Gardens. I had so much fun last weekend, that I went there again a few days later!
Gorgeous white blooms. They belong to the plant in the next photo.
I am guessing those flowering are yuccas and the white grew ones on the right are Cotyledon Orbiculata (please feel free to correct me)
Euphorbia spreading out
A close up of the Euphorbia - those thorns are scary!
Gorgeous pink bloom from this spiky variety – agave or aloe?
This one looks like it has passed its used by date. It belongs to the plant below.
Sorry, I missed the middle portion of the stalk, which is actually very long… If agave dies after flowering, is this plant going to die soon? It sure looks strong and healthy to me.
That’s it, hope you enjoyed the photos.

It's fun seeing such different plants. The one with the thorns has such pretty flowers, but the thorns look so sharp.
Wonderful view! When I travel to Arizona I visit a desert Botanical garden with similar plant life!
Very nice photos. All these plants are very similar to what we have here in Arizona. Our climates are much the same.
What a beautiful place to visit! Gorgeous succulent blooms. I have Euphorbia and they areflowering this time. I keep on trimming them every now and then to stop from spreading. The thorns are really sharp and strong and scary for the kids when they play around the backyard. Lovely photos as always, Evelyn. Have a great week!
I love visiting botanical gardens ~ they show such a variety of plants. Thanks for sharing.
These are all beautiful flowers/succulents. Thank you for sharing with us :-)
So many beautiful flowers from your visit to the botanical garden, and all your photos are lovely. Thanks for sharing and have a great week.
Lovely photos. The one with the spectacular pink flower is an aloe I think. I have a big one as a houseplant . I've never seen them growing outside. I didn't know they had flowers.
Hello Evelyn,
Your pictures of the garden are beautiful. The white flowers are from the yucca. Unfortunately, the agave will die....(only a tiny fraction of agave species do not die after flowering). But at least, it accomplished it's crowning glory or producing it's flowering stalk.
Such a beautiful garden with succulent blooms!
Have a wonderful week and Easter.
Wow, gorgeous place! I love the purple tips on the white buds in the first one.
lovely...enjoy visiting here.
I believe the plant with the big pink flower in your fifth photo is a Bromelia.
Lovely photos, I live in Southern California and it's fun to see many of the same plants in such a far-flung location! I have many of the same at my place: ranchoreubidoux.wordpress.com
