One of my favourite flowers. I have bought another 2 plants for my balcony :).
The Kangaroo Paw is an Australian native, which loves full sun. It is heat and drought tolerant. It grows to 80 cms / 31 inches and is good for containers, as well as in the garden.
Anigozanthos or commonly known as Kangaroo Paw

It is a favorite out here too in SF.
Hi Evelyn! Is this a succulent??? It is really cool looking! Wonder if it would grow here. I've never seen it before!
We find Kangaroo Paw in our local nurseries here in the States. Their flowers are so unusual, yet beautiful. I love your photo :^)
@Julie: Not a succulent, unfortunately. Mine is in a pot, so it needs to be watered every other day in summer. But if planted in the ground, it's hardy and needs very little water.
Beautiful!
No wonder it's a favorite!
Nice colors and texture and I like this asymmetry of the point of view.
My friend has this plant in her garden, and I love it!
I saw your Cactus Monday, I am going to check out the link on Monday.
I have succulent flowers, tons of them!
I love the name and look of this blossom!
Cool flower. Never saw one of these before!
