Succulents photos – taken outside the Melbourne Botanical Gardens

Happy Cactus Monday and I hope you had a nice weekend.

In this post, I’m uploading the remaining succulent photos taken outside the Melbourne Botanical Garden.

Firstly, here is a photo the jogging/walking track where the succulents are planted. The section planted with succulents stretches for about 0.5 km.

I am not including photos of Aloes and Agaves, since they were posted earlier in this post: Getting up close to spiky plants – Aloes and Agaves.

I love their different textures, shades of greens and shapes of leaves… For a closer look, click on the images to enlarge.

I had a great time looking at and photographing the succulents, and I hope you enjoy the photos.

Grandma and grandpa sculptures

Before I go, I would like to share this photo... I spotted these two sitting in the front yard of a house, enjoying the garden and perhaps watching the world go by… They are life-size, and are occupying the only chair out there. They must be well-loved.

Have a great week.

You have a great blog! I really like the variety of succulents and I just bought my first agave a couple of weeks ago. Those sculptures are great. :)

Hi Evelyn, Just saw your comment at Di's. When I saw 'succulent' in your title I had to look. I love succulents and have purchased quite a variety now - and the reason was to start doing wreaths. I've been snooping around your posts and saw the beautiful wreath you made. Actually, I picked up a bunch of wire baskets from a wholesale nursery down the road and did my first one. Alot harder to learn on than a wreath I think because of the angle. Now to do a wreath. Ha!
Your pictures are fantastic and I'm going to mark your site so I can keep coming back!!!

Hi Evelyn,
Thanks for visiting my blog. I enjoyed seeing all those cool succulents. The reddish hens and chicks in your first photo are huge! How did you get those circular frames?

Thanks everyone for your comments.

@Corner Gardener Sue: Are you referring to the reddish ones in the bottem left corner of the square photo? I had to enlarge to see - I'm quite sure they are aeoniums, but they sure look like hens and chicks (which are amongst my fav varieties).

I made those circular frames in Adobe Illustrator software.

That's a great post. There is so much variety in that garden. And those carvings of people are pretty convincing!

The botanical garden must be a great place to visit. You are making me wish it were spring or summer here so I could be out in my garden. LOL

@Stine: I guess I'll have to get into the Botanical Garden sometime with my camera. These were taken outside. I'm not good at walking and prefer to cycle, but I can't do that inside the garden...

I just Googled aeoniums, and yes, those on the left are what I was referring to. They do look like hens and chicks. They are great looking plants.
