Beautiful spaces

Just a couple of little spaces that I came across while in Beijing, which I’d love to share with you.

When I am in this space, I feel like it could be anywhere out in the country. But it’s only a small space, and if I stretch my neck to look around, it is actually surrounded by buildings.

I feel inspired – how can I make make my little space at home cosy and provide it with a sense of seclusion?

A little “natural” arch with an interesting feature in the background. Such an inviting scene…

Hope you are having a nice weekend.

PS you were right about the Kanji, see my reply to your comment on my blog.

In the shade of skyscrapers, such a space to feel nature is necessary, and we can create our favorite place to relax ourselves at home no matter how limited in space. The arch made by boughs is lovely and makes me feel going deep inside. I like your photos.

Wow! those rocks, in the first photo, are fantastic. Green spaces seem much more special when they're surrounded by concrete and busy city life. Inspiring photos Evelyn.

Stumbled on your Blog. Love the photos from Beijing. Something about the Asian sense of space. I love it. Also look forward to more of your interest in succulents. I too like them for their easy care (lets be honest) and their texture and form. Most interesting to me. I have a few here at Gardens at Waters East and will be adding more this Summer. Will be following your Blog. Jack

Wow Evelyn that first shot is crazy. Love the look of the rocks in the back. I can't wait to see more of your ideas!

Even though space is very small, we can feel nature. The sun is passing, wind is blowing over it, and one flower is blooming there. The space represents vast nature. A Japanese garden also has the same idea. Great blog!

Evelyn, You asked if the opening photo on the Blog Gardens at Waters East is of the gardens here. Yes it is. I wanted to show Lake Michigan in the background since it plays such an important part in the environment here at the gardens. The garden is located right on the shore. Am fortunate indeed to have such a beautiful place to live. If you go through some past postings you will see that it appears often while showing the many plants and designs used here. Do enjoy. Jack
