Number three made me laugh. It is a Cape Daisy, an introduced weed from South Africa. Why it is funny is that our mothers always called them "Wet the beds" and said if we picked the flowers we would wet the bed.I don't know where this weird idea came from but maybe in some cases it was a self fulfilling prophecy!

@origa-me: Carole, :) it is a funny name. A great story - much appreciated since I did not grow up in Australia.

Beautiful photos Evelyn. That post about the sculpture (easy to make) has got my mind churning on creating rock sculpture! :) HCM!

I love the purple spikes and "easy to make" garden sculpture--for you maybe, not me--and your drawings, always so charming. Evelyn, what art supplies to you take along on these trips?

I love the yellow flower. They may be weeds but they look so exotic to me. The garden sculpture is really cool. How do you make the holes in the rocks?

@LW Roth: Hi Linda, I have pens and watercolour with me while camping. Not much room in the little smart car.

@Melanie: I wouldn't make the holes but my husband would :). He'll need his power tools definitely. There are all sorts of drills available for different materials...

Ha! It cracks me up that these are photos from a camping trip! You would only see most of these plants in a botanical garden or a nursery in my part of the world.
