Lovely blooms from this succulent. I don’t know the variety but I see it often. The petals look like they have streaks of white, but that’s just pollen.
When it is not flowering, the pot is quite dull. This lives by the coast next to a restaurant – maybe it belongs to the restaurant. You will not be able to see it in the photo, but people use this as an ashtray – yuck! There are lots of cigarette butts in the pot. I am a non-smoker so I think that’s ugly, yet the pot with all those blooms is so beautiful.
Happy Cactus Monday.

The plant is beautiful! I agree that using the pot as an ashtray is gross.
Such beautiful flowers on this plant! That is so sad that it is used as an ashtray. The owners should clean that up and put a real ashtray there beside it!
It really is beautiful. Using any planter as an ashtray is disgusting. Maybe you can take a cutting for your deck next time you go? Can you do that with succulents?
Que maravilhoso arranjo! Quantas lindas flores que esta suculenta nos apresenta! Sinto que nem todas as pessoas tenham sensibilidade para admirar e proteger tão linda planta.
Saudações cariocas!
@ LW Roth: That is a good idea. I should take a cutting and get some of those lovely blooms on my balcony next season.
Those are very pretty, and I agree on the ashtray...yuk!! Someone should put pieces of it in the empty part of the pot and maybe they'd be less likely to use it for that, and it would be even fuller!
First, I am so amazed that the flower has that much pollen. I thought we had the market cornered in Wisconsin for pollen. Beautiful color. That ashtray, er, pot, needs a cactus!
