Largest cactus…

… that I’ve ever seen. The owner will have to make another hole for the branch on the left very soon.

Cacti are such survivors that when they grow in the wrong place they can be a big problem.

LOL, That's awesome. Reminds me a barbershop near where I live that had a tree growing in the center of the building and the building was built around it.

That's amazing! Not too many plant lovers would go that far. :)

This is truly a survival. What an unusual plant.

Hello Evelyn, What a kick to actually cut a hole in ones roof. :)

What a really neat thing to see, those people were certainly taking care of their cactus. Great photo and also that piece of art is beautiful. Thanks for dropping by. You asked a question on my seahorse post about whether one photo was of a mural. It was actually a glass piece about 5 ft long, near the entrance to the exhibit and it was lighted in the back. It had a very pretty lighting effect as everywhere else was so dark.

I sure do love and admire the respect for the natural world.

God, that one is indeed huge. And, how nice of the owner to make the hole instead of cutting the cactus. Wow ...

Do you know anything about Cereus plants? My son brought me one from a friend of his and I am confused with all of the crap I have googled..

Unknown said...

@Darla: Actually I wonder if this is it. Sorry, don't know anything about it.

But if you post a pic on yr blog, maybe some readers can offer information. Cheers, Ev

Darla said...

I will when the rain stops, if ever! The Cereus bloom once a year and are very fragrant, they have leaves though.

Oh my gosh that's awesome! I have a picture of one that may actually be larger! My grandmother gave my cousin a tiny cutting from one of her cactus plants and it has grown larger than the house over the past 10 or 15 years, fortunately I got a picture of it before she sold her house and moved! Now that I think of it I want to post it on my blog, I will send you the link once it's up so you can see!
