Whensday – Tasmania and Bruny Island

On one of our trips to Hobart (Tasmania), my husband and I visited our friend, Graham. Graham lives on a raspberry farm, in a lovely Japanese styled house with mostly glass and screened doors. It was very cold while we were at his house, so we mainly stayed indoors. The view from his house was fantastic – on a good day, we could see platypuses swimming in his (man-made) lake…

Here are a couple of photos I took while we were in his house:

Lovely rhododendron flowers – Graham has a green thumb

Bruno the dog – lucky to have lots of space to run and play in, plus a cosy bed indoors

Bruny Island

Later we went to Bruny Island, just off the coast of Tasmania (2 hours by car from Hobart). We rented a wonderful house with a magnificent view, overlooking the sea (see photos below)…

We went on a half-day adventure boat cruise to look at the rugged coastline and wildlife – that was our most active day... Mostly I read, drew and painted – just my kind of holiday.

It is definitely a place to consider if you are looking for a restful holiday with not much to do. This is link that shows where exactly Bruny Island is.

Wow! You are on vacation again Evelyn!
The blooms are so gorgeous and i thought that I am in fairly blossom wonderland.
Bruno the dog is certainly a smart guard dog. So cute, is a he or she?
I always love Australia, the sceneries are superb...but the weather is extremely hot during summer!
thanks for the useful link too:)

And did you say platypuses swimming around? really?
Those flowers are amazing, and so are the views.
Lucky you!

@Urbun Green: Yes, they swim around. It's pretty awesome, especially when it's a man-made lake, and on his property!
